Pellegrino presents Bianco di Venere
The new white wine from Pantelleria that captures the island’s brightest and most authentic spirit, complementing the excellence of the Isesi cru.
Cantine Pellegrino is expanding its winemaking project on the island of Pantelleria with Bianco di Venere, a new wine born from the desire to explore and enhance the island’s terroir through a contemporary interpretation.
The new wine is part of the development of Pantelleria’s dry white wines and complements the research already underway with Isesi, the estate’s cru. Its development is also part of the technical collaboration with oenologist Pietro Russo MW, which began in November 2025.
“Bianco di Venere represents a further step in our commitment to promoting Pantelleria and its extraordinary viticultural biodiversity. It is a wine born from the ongoing dialogue between the land, research and oenological expertise, reflecting our determination to make a tangible investment in the island’s future, including through the restoration of vineyards and the protection of its agricultural landscape” says Benedetto Renda, President of Cantine Pellegrino.
This initiative is part of a concrete, long-term commitment that Pellegrino is pursuing on the island: an investment aimed not only at producing wines that express the identity of the territory, but also at protecting Pantelleria’s agricultural landscape, which is currently threatened by the abandonment of vineyards. The company is actively involved in the restoration and management of new plots of land, helping to preserve a form of heroic viticulture that is unique in the world.
Pantelleria is an extreme yet fascinating island, where the wind shapes the land and the alberello vine-training system – recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – represents one of the highest expressions of agricultural resilience. In this setting, among volcanic soils, sea breezes and significant temperature variations, wines of extraordinary character are born.
Bianco di Venere captures the island’s sunniest and most fragrant character. It is made from a selection of younger vineyards located in the cooler areas, with the aim of enhancing a pleasantly Mediterranean aromatic profile. The result is a straw-yellow white wine, with an intense bouquet of orange blossom, caper flowers and citrus fruits, and a fresh, vibrant palate marked by a delicate savoury finish.
With a production of approximately 13,000 bottles, Bianco di Venere is a versatile wine, ideal as an aperitif or paired with light Mediterranean dishes, from raw fish to vegetarian preparations.
With this new launch, Cantine Pellegrino reaffirms its strategic vision for Pantelleria: a project that brings together the promotion of the territory, sustainability and stylistic research, helping to build an increasingly rich and distinctive narrative around the island’s great white wines.
