Baked apples

By Caterina

Baked apples are a simple and delicate dessert, ideal for ending a light meal on a sweet note without overdoing the sugar. They have always been a substitute for elaborate desserts, enjoyed daily by those of us with a sweet tooth. Josephine, for example, never finished a meal without a sweet treat! These apples were a low-calorie alternative to the desserts she loved.

Cut the apples in half, peel them and remove the core. Then place them in a baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake in the microwave for about 7-8 minutes, making sure they do not overcook.

Once out of the oven, fill each apple with a teaspoon of jam, raisins and 4-5 pine nuts. Then finish in a preheated oven at 160°C for 10 minutes until golden brown. Finally, serve the apples warm on a serving dish.
